Wimbledon 2012 Scores: Maria Sharapova Postponed; Caroline Wozniacki, Sam Stosur Upset

On Wednesday, Maria Sharapova's match against Tsvetana Pironkova was suspended due to fading light and will be resumed on Thursday. Sharapova took the first set 7-6 (10), and led 3-1 in the second set before play was suspended. Sharapova had won a break when play was ended and will serve when the match resumes on Thursday.

While Sharapova will be guaranteed to play at least one more day, the same can not be said for two other high seeded women as Caroline Wozniacki and Sam Stosur were both upset in their matches.

No. 7 seeded Wozniacki fell to Austria's Tamira Paszek in three sets, 5-7, 7-6 (11), 6-4. The match was carried over from Tuesday night and picked up tied 2-2 in the first set prior to Paszek willing her way to the win.

The No. 5 seeded Stosur fell to her opponent, Arantxa Rus, 6-2, 0-6, 6-4. After dropping the first set, Stosur looked like she was on the ropes prior to battling back in the second set. Ultimately, Stosur seemed to lose her composure and ended up losing the match.
