Lynx vs. Mercury Final Score: Minnesota Improves to 13-1

The Minnesota Lynx continued their strong start to the season with a 96-80 win over a banged-up Phoenix Mercury squad on Wednesday night. This improves their league-best record to 13-1.

They won it on a balanced scoring effort, with Rebekkah Brunson and Seimone Augustus finishing with a team-high 16 points and Maya Moore scoring 15. Brunson added a team-high 13 rebounds and Taj McWilliams-Franklin also had a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Six Lynx finished in double figures, with Monica Wright and Amber Harris scoring 13 and 10 respectively off the bench.

DeWanna Bonner and Samantha Prahalis led Phoenix in a losing effort. Bonner finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, with 18 of her points coming in the first half. Prahalis had 20 points.

The Mercury were without Diana Taurasi (strained left hip flexor) and Candice Dupree (left knee contusion).

Minnesota out-rebounded Phoenix 45-31. They had 27 assists, while Phoenix had 14 turnovers to their eight assists.

The Lynx play next on Sunday in San Antonio.
