Wimbledon 2012: Novak Djokovic, Maria Sharapova Advance On Friday

Despite the overwhelming amount of upsets that have occurred at the 2012 Wimbledon Championship, the two No. 1 seeded players in the tournament, Novak Djokovic and Maria Sharapova, both managed to advance to round four on Friday.

Sharapova had little troubled putting away her opponent, the unseeded Su-Wei Hsieh by putting her away in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. In the second set, Hsieh battled back but Sharapova quickly squelched any thought of a come back.

Djokovic did not have as easy a time with his opponent, the No. 28 seed Radek Stepanek as he dropped the first set 4-6. However, Djokovic quickly collected himself before the second set and rolled in three straight sets to win the match, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.

The entire Friday docket can be found at Wimbledon's official site.
