2012 Belmont Stakes: I'll Have Another Draws 11th Post Position

The 2012 running of the Belmont Stakes brings a ton of excitement at the possibility of a horse taking home the first Triple Crown since 1978. I'll Have Another is currently favored to win after having huge victories in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. But I'll Have Another's road isn't going to be an easy one.

Of course, the competition is very strong, with Dullahan not far behind in the odds. But things are made much tougher by the fact that I'll Have Another drew 11th place in the post positions, just one away from last (occupied by My Adonis). The full post positions were revealed on Wednesday, and Street Life will kick things off on the inside.

I'll Have Another is no stranger to come-from-behind victories though, as both legs of the 2012 Triple Crown were won in such a fashion. Of course, Bodemeister isn't around for this one, but I'll Have Another probably isn't picky about which horses the colt passes up to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Below, we've got the full post positions for the race:

  1. Street Life
  2. Unstoppable U
  3. Union Rags
  4. Atigun
  5. Dullahan
  6. Ravelo's Boy
  7. Five Sixteen
  8. Guyana Star Dweej
  9. Paynter
  10. Optimizer
  11. I'll Have Another
  12. My Adonis
