Despite the Women's brackets No. 1 seed being eliminated when Maria Sharapova was upset by Sabine Lisicki, the Men's No. 1 was able to advance to the Quarterfinal round of the 2012 Wimbledon Tournament when Novak Djokovic defeated Viktor Troicki in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, 6-3.
Djokovic eliminated his opponent with relative ease, as the tournament's top seed defeated his fellow countryman by scoring on 81 percent of eligible first serves for the match, notching 31 winners to his opponent's 15 and winning six of his eight break point opportunities while being broken just once in three sets.
The victory acts as a signal to the rest of the field that Djokovic is the man to beat in this year's tournament, as he is looking to defend his win at the 2011 Wimbledon tournament.
The full schedule and brackets can each be found at Wimbledon's official site.
