Wimbledon 2012: Roger Federer Advances With Win Over Xavier Malisse

On Monday afternoon, Roger Federer advanced to his 33rd consecutive appearance in a Grand Slam Tournament's Quarterfinal stage when he defeated Xavier Malisse, 7-6 (1), 6-1, 4-6, 6-3, in Round 4 of the 2012 Wimbledon Tournament.

Federer was able to advance despite having to take an off-the-court injury timeout due to problem's with his back, which had spectators wondering if he would be able to return. Following an eight minute delay, he returned to action and closed out the match in impressive fashion.

Federer's next opponent will be Mikhail Youzhny, who edged Denis Istomin, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-5, in a match scheduled for Wednesday. Federer is 13-0 all-time against Youzhny.
