Twins Vs. Tigers Final Score: Minnesota Wins 4th Straight

The Minnesota Twins have started their series at Comerica Park on the right note. They beat the Detroit Tigers 6-4 on Monday night to extend their winning streak to four games.

After three innings, Minnesota trailed 1-0. Consecutive singles from Ben Revere, Joe Mauer and Josh Willingham keyed a four-run fourth and they headed into the bottom of the fifth up 6-1 after RBI-singles from Mauer and Justin Morneau.

Liam Hendricks gave up a two-run double to Miguel Cabrera and a sac fly to Delmon Young in the fifth and was pulled for Anthony Swarzak. After five innings, it was 6-4 for the Twins and that's how it would stay. With the win, Swarzak improved to 2-4 on the year.

After going 2-for-4 on Monday, Mauer has a 10 game hitting streak. All 13 of Minnesota's hits were singles.

Doug Fister pitched four innings for Detroit and gave up eight hits and six earned runs.

It was the 900th career win for Twins manager Ron Gardenhire.

Game 2 is Tuesday at 6:05 C.T.
