Twins Vs. Tigers Preview: Minnesota Goes For Five In A Row

The Minnesota Twins may be last in their division, but they're also the hottest team in the American League. With their 6-4 win in Detroit on Monday night, the Twins have won four straight for the second time this season.

The win was manager Ron Gardenhire's 900th of his career. He is one of nine managers in the Majors to hit that number and the second in Twins history after Tom Kelly, who holds the franchise record with 1,140 wins, via Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.

Gardenhire will go for win No. 901 on Tuesday against a Tigers team that's missing its regularly scheduled starter. Late Monday, Detroit scratched Max Scherzer due to a hamstring injury and he will be replaced in the rotation by Duane Below, via Joe Christensen of The Star Tribune.

It'll be the first start of the season for Below, who is 2-1 and has an ERA of 2.70 in 21 appearances in relief this season.

The Twins will start Nick Blackburn, who is 4-5 on the season and has a 7.74 ERA.

The game starts at 6:05 p.m. CT and can be seen on Fox Sports North.
