The Minnesota Twins are on a four-game losing streak heading into Monday night's series-opener against the Detroit Tigers, having just been swept by the Tampa Bay Rays. Undefeated Sam Deduno will take the mound for Monday's opener, though, giving Twins fans a bit of hope when the first pitch is thrown at 7:10 p.m.
Deduno's 3-0 record isn't quite as blemish free as it seems at first glance, though, considering he has six starts on the season -- his most recent a no-decision that saw him give up four runs on five hits before being yanked after just four innings on the mound.
The pitcher facing the Twins hasn't been great as of late either, though, as Anibal Sanchez gave up seven runs in three innings in his most recent outing. He'd been pretty good prior to that, however, after being acquired by the Tigers shortly before the trade deadline.
The game will be broadcast locally on Fox Sports North.
