GIF: Jerome Simpson, Hurdler

New England Patriots RB Jeff Demps is one NFL player who actually competed in track and field at the 2012 Olympics, but Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson may have given London's hurdlers a run for their money. Simpson, of course, is infamous for front-flipping his way to a touchdown last season, and on Friday night against the Baltimore Ravens, he completed another circus act.

Simpson caught a 33-yard pass from Christian Ponder on the team's first drive, in the process hurdling a diving Jairus Byrd of the Buffalo Bills. Hit the jump for the GIF in all its glory.

The point of the preseason from an individual player's perspective is to stand out, and that's certainly one way of doing so. Simpson won't be required to leap over defenders every time he catches the ball, of course, but receivers want those yards after the catch any way they can get them.
