Recent Olympics gold medalist and Minnesota Lynx star Maya Moore has earned the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week honors for games played from Aug. 16-20.
Moore, the league's reigning Rookie of the Year from the defending WNBA champions, led the Lynx to wins over Washington and Tulsa while scoring over 19 points per game. She's led the Western Conference-leading Lynx to the WNBA's top record (17-4). Minnesota faces the Seattle Storm tonight in a game televised by ESPN2.
Indiana Fever star and fellow gold medalist Tameka Catchings, the league's reigning MVP, won the honor for the Eastern Conference after leading the team to wins over Washington and Atlanta.
No surprise Moore and Catchings won the honors, as both are probably the frontrunners for the league's MVP award right now.
