The NLL is still months away from being back inside the Hive, and most of the players are off plying their trade in leagues around the continent. Still, they have to figure out where they will be headed next season, and for the Minnesota Swarm, that looks to mean the departure of the largest player ever to play for the team.
According to Swarm captain Andrew Suitor's Twitter account, Rich Morgan is headed to the Colorado Mammoth, a rival of the Swarm:
At 6' 8", 260 pounds, Morgan is not going to be easy to replace on the field. Off the field, he will be missed as well. Morgan is a leader off the field, and is from all accounts, one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. The Swarm players likely will feel a little less protected without the massive presence on the bench.
It will certainly be odd to see Morgan making hits like this for the other side:
The NLL draft will take place October 1, in Toronto. The Swarm own three of the top four picks. Stay tuned here at SB Nation Minnesota for all the latest on the Swarm.
