2012 U.S. Open Scores: Edina's Mardy Fish Playing Tuesday

Mardy Fish, the No. 23 seed on the men's side at the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows, New York, faces Russia's Nikolay Davidenko in a singles match Thursday afternoon at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Fish, a 30-year-old native of Edina, Minn., began his match around noon CT. It's a second-round match; if Fish wins, he moves on to face the winner of the Jimmy Wang-Gilles Simon match. Simon, of France, is the 16th seed in the tournament.

Fish, unfortunately, is in the same bracket at top seed Roger Federer, though he'd have to win Thursday and in his next match to potentially face Federer.

Fifth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France is also playing his second-round match at Louis Armstrong Stadium, against unseeded Martin Klizan of Slovakia.

On the women's side, three seeded women's singles players advanced to the third round, including No. 12 Ana Ivanovic of Serbia. She defeated Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden 6-2, 6-2.

Live scores are available at the U.S. Open website.
