'It Gets Better' Ad Campaign Being Avoided By Twins

On Thursday, the Twins released an anti-bullying video featuring Joe Mauer.

While, stopping bullying is a very important cause, Minnesota Public Radio's Bob Collins noted that the video does not mention gay and lesbian teens.

The Twins decided to take a different approach, a comparably safer approach, in the video released (Thursday).

The Twins had pledged to join the "It Gets Better" campaign, according to the Star Tribune, but they decided against it in June due to some controversy around the campaign's creator. Several major professional sports teams, including the San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants have joined the campaign already.
