2012 NCAA Football Rankings: Gophers left out of Blogpoll

Despite their 4-0 record, the Minnesota Golden Gophers were left out of this week's Blogpoll rankings. Minnesota had been shut out of voting until this week, but did garner ten votes in this week's poll, with SB Nation Boise State blog One Bronco Nation Under God placing them as high as 19th.

Alabama topped the poll, receiving 85 of the 93 available first-place votes. Oregon, Florida State, LSU, and Georgia rounded out the top five. Blogpoll voters were nearly universal in their scorn for the Big Ten, placing only four of the conference's squads -- Ohio State, Michigan State, Northwestern, and Nebraska -- in the top 25, with only Ohio State cracking the top 15.

While Minnesota did not make the top 25, its most bitter rivals, Iowa and Nebraska, fared little better. The Badgers managed just four votes, with no voter ranking them higher than No. 21. Iowa, which lost its second game of the season to Central Michigan Saturday, failed to receive a vote.

The Blogpoll is a top 25 ranking of the nation's best college football teams as voted by college football bloggers and curated by SB Nation.
