After a four-hour delay, the Minnesota state senate is debating the Minnesota Vikings' stadium bill. This debate could continue on into the evening as there are more than 50 amendments to the bill according to reports.

Eric Durkee, a Vikings public relations and stadium development employee tweeted this picture of the debate:

If the bill passes, then the a joint House/Senate committee will have to reconcile the differences between the different versions of the bill before it lands on the governor's desk to sign into law.

One key point raised by stadium supporters is the importance of keeping the Vikings in Minnesota. Some dismiss this idea as a scare tactic, while stadium supporters are legitimately worried about the Vikings long-term stability in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Gophers are bringing in a local kid to possible their future kicking duties on the football field. Bemidji HS kicker, Kyle Fodness announced his decision to play football for the Gophers on Monday.

Fodness stepped in for his high school's football team after their starting kicker went down with an injury. Interestingly enough, Fodness, a soccer player originally, did not join the team until the midseason because he was battling his own ankle injury.

Gophers officials watched and instructed Fodness during a couple of kicking camps and also viewed videos of Fodness in action.

Those officials were impressed with what they saw and in late April Fodness received a phone call from Gopher coach Jerry Kill.

The report from the Bemidji Pioneer says Fodness will redshirt his freshman year and look to challenge for starting place kicker in 2013.

The Minnesota Vikings rookie minicap took place this past weekend. Several players with local connections were invited to participate on a tryout basis.

Blooming Prarie's Spencer Ohm was one of the 39 players that were trying out for the team out of the 70 players total at the camp. Ohm spent four years at quarterback for the St. Paul-based Concordia University. After breaking his foot at the beginning of the 2011 season, Ohm returned for his team's final six games, passing for 1,771 yards and 17 touchdowns.

"I looked at it as an opportunity to get my feet wet, and I felt my skills were right with those guys," Ohm said. "I think I'll have a good chance to get to a (training) camp or at least get another tryout with some team." (Via: TwinCities.com)

Ohm will find out in a few days whether he will be invited back to the Viking's training camp.

Also trying out for the Vikings were several former Minnesota Golden Gophers. Wide receiver Da'Jon McKnight, defensive linemen Brandon Kirksey and Anthony Jacobs, along with tight ends Nick Tow-Arnett and Tiree Eure all participated in the weekend rookie camp. According to this report, Jacobs was used at defensive line and on special teams. Like, Ohm, the group of Gophers will likely hear back from the Vikings this week.
