Purdue Boilermakers 14, Minnesota Golden Gophers 0 - The Minnesota Offense Is Offensive

The Minnesota Golden Gophers offense this afternoon in West Lafayette has been, to borrow a phrase, freaking terrible.

As we head into the locker room, Minnesota trails Purdue by a score of 14-0, and they’ve generated a whopping 64 yards of total offense. Quarterback Adam Weber has completed nine of eighteen passes for a total of 40 yards. . .a robust 2.2 yards per attempt. . .and has thrown in an interception for good measure.

The running game hasn’t fared any better, with DeLeon Eskridge and Duane Bennett combining for 27 yards on 12 carries. Weber has three runs for 25 yards to make things look slightly less pathetic, but pathetic none the less.

At halftime, the Gophers trail the Boilermakers 14-0, and if Tim Brewster can’t do any better than this when he knows he’s coaching for his job, maybe Joel Maturi can fire him at halftime.
