Glen Mason coached the Minnesota Golden Gophers from 1997-2006, earning Big Ten Coach of the Year honors once during his tenure as the head of the school's football program. Mason hasn't coached since, instead turning to a broadcast career for the Big Ten Network, but there were rumors earlier Tuesday that he might be returning to the sidelines as head caoch of the New Mexico Lobos.
That apparently is not the case, however, as the Minnesota resident addressed the rumors on his Twitter account.
The key there, as someone pointed out shortly thereafter, is that it is actually the University of New Mexico, not New Mexico University. If Mason isn't familiar with the school's acronym, it makes sense that he probably is not going to be coaching there anytime soon.
