Though Minnesota is now officially eliminated from a wild Legends Division race, the final three weeks of the Big Ten Conference football season will be exciting, and the Golden Gophers can still play the role of spoiler. Already their upset of Iowa has prevented the Hawkeyes from playing for first place at home this weekend against Michigan State. This week's home game for Paul Bunyan's Axe can throw a similar wrench into the Leaders Division as well.
Penn State leads the Leaders Division by two full games, and a Minnesota upset of Wisconsin combined with Purdue beating Ohio State and Penn State beating Nebraska could clinch that division for the Nittany Lions. The Legends Division is not so simple. Michigan State leads by a game, but they travel to Iowa City this week. If the Hawkeyes win, a four-way tie could result if Nebraska beats Penn State and Michigan beats Illinois.
