The Big Ten conference has granted Minnesota Golden Gophers wide receiver Brandon Green a medical hardship waiver after Green missed most of the 2010 season with a knee injury.
↵Green played in two games this year for the Golden Gophers and did not record a catch, serving primarily as a punt returner. Now that he has been granted this medical hardship waiver, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.
↵In three seasons with the Gophers, Green has caught 42 passes for 599 yards and two scores. He is expected to play a much larger role with the team in 2011 as a potential starter opposite Da'Jon McKnight in Jerry Kill's new offense.
