2011 NCAA Basketball Tournament: St. Peter's Allows Purdue To Enter Round Two

Purdue's dynamic duo of E'Twuan Moore and JaJuan Johnson didn't put together the most efficient performance on Friday night, but they got the job done as the Boilermakers blew out the Peacocks of St. Peter's by a score of 65-43 at the United Center in Chicago tonight.

Moore led all scorers with 19 points, despite turning the ball over seven times, and Johnson had 16 points and 16 rebounds, despite hitting only six of 16 shots from the field. The Boilermakers led the entire game, went into the locker room with a 33-17 lead, and then scored the first seven points of the second half to really put the Peacocks away.

Senior forward Jeron Belin led the Peacocks in scoring with 12 points.

The Boilermakers advance to the second round of the Southwest Regional, where it appears that they will take on the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth, who currently lead the Georgetown Hoyas by a score of 59-38 with seven and a half minutes remaining.
