The loss suffered by the Minnesota Golden Gophers last night against the Northwestern Wildcats was their eleventh Big Ten loss of the season, and it appears that was finally. . .mercifully. . .enough to make the folks at SB Nation remove the Gophers from the NCAA Tournament "bubble." Realistically, the Gophers were off the bubble a long time ago, but now it's official.
↵With no more than 18 regular season wins being a possibility. . .which is sad for a team that was 16-4 in late January. . .and a best possible conference record of 7-11, the only way the Gophers are going to find themselves in the NCAA Tournament would be an improbable run through the Big Ten Conference tournament that gets underway next week.
↵At the rate this team is going, they may be a one-and-done in the NIT, too, never mind any delusions about the NCAA tournament. How long ago does that tournament victory in Puerto Rico seem now?
