Former Gopher Humphries Engaged To Random Kardashian Sister

This past season for the New Jersey Nets, former Minnesota Golden Gopher Kris Humphries scored ten points per game.

A few days ago he scored something significantly, um, bigger.

Humphries has been dating reality show star Kim Kardashian for approximately six months, and apparently had his mind made up that she was the one for him so he went out, bought a 20.5-carat ring and asked young Kim to marry him. She accepted his proposal (which is pretty lucky since I bet it would have been really awkward if he had bought that ginormous ring and she had shot him down).

Humphries, who was drafted by the Utah Jazz with the 14th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, has averaged 5.6 points and 4.7 rebounds a game in his career, though he had a bit of a breakout this past season as he averaged 10 points and 10.4 rebounds per contest.

For those of you who are scoring at home, Kim Kardashian is the one that originally became famous via a leaked sex tape featuring her and an ex-boyfriend, and has a derriere not unlike the kind immortalized in Sir Mix-a-Lot's 1992 smash hit, "Baby Got Back." She is not Khloe (the one built like a middle linebacker that's married to Lakers' forward Lamar Odom) or Kourtney (the one who's just sort of ... there). I'm pretty sure that's the full list of Kardashian sisters -- and, if it's not, I apologize to any Kardashian sisters that I might have left out.

If you're wondering why I know so much about the family, it's because, um, because my wife watches their show on whatever network it's on. Yeah, let's just go with that.

In any event, congratulations to the young couple on their impending nuptials. No date has been announced, but stay tuned to SB Nation Minnesota for the announcement there are plenty of places that you can find that sort of information when the time comes.
