Gophers Rallying, but Aggies Make Goal Line Stand

The Minnesota Gophers are furiously rallying, thanks to Da’Jon McKnight, MarQueis Gray, and the defense.

As the 4th quarter began, the Gophers took the ball and marched 68 yards in 3:44, and most of that yardage was gained by McKnight, who now has 8 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown.

McKnight had catches for 35 and 4 yards on the drive, and it was finished off by McKnight’s 4 yard TD catch, capping a 10 play, 68 yard drive.

Then the Gophers forced a turnover, with Brock Vereen intercepting Andrew Manley at the New Mexico State 33, giving the Gophers offense a golden opportunity to tie the game.

But they couldn’t convert.

MarQueis Gray ran 5 of 6 times, getting the Gophers to the new Mexico State one on fourth down. From there, LaMonte Edwards was stopped short of the goal line, and the scoring threat was snuffed out.

New Mexico State now has the ball, and they are near midfield with under four minutes to go.
