Redhawks At Gophers: Miami Cuts Lead To 13-10

The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks put together a very impressive drive at the end of the first half, including a big fourth down conversion, to cut the Minnesota Golden Gophers' lead to 13-10.

The Gophers thwarted the previous Redhawks' drive, thanks to an interception by Troy Stoudermire. However, Minnesota was unable to do anything with it, and had to punt the ball back to the Redhawks, who started their drive on their own 35-yard line. Quarterback Zac Dysert made a huge third down play early in the drive, hitting Chris Givens for 31 yards to keep the drive alive for Miami (Ohio).

The Redhawks matriculated the ball down to the Gophers' 5-yard line, where they faced a 4th-and-1 situation. The Gophers were unable to stop Redhawks' running back Erik Finklea, who converted the first down for his team. Three plays later, Finklea found the end zone from a yard out, and the extra point by Mason Krysinski made the score 13-10 in favor of Minnesota.

The Gophers' defense has looked much more impressive in this one than they have to this point in the season so far, and it will be interesting to see if they can keep it up in the second half of play.

As we go to the locker room at TCF Bank Stadium, the Minnesota Golden Gophers lead the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks by a score of 13-10.
