Redhawks At Gophers: Miami Responds, Game Now Tied At 16

The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks have stopped the Minnesota Golden Gophers' momentum, but followed it up with something that may haunt them later on.

The Redhawks started out from their own 23-yard line, and proceeded to march downfield thanks to a couple of big plays, notably a 32-yard pass from Zac Dysert to Nick Harwell to put the Redhawks at the Gophers' 8-yard line. Two plays later, Dysert found Chris Givens in the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown catch to make the score 16-16.

However, when the Redhawks went for the extra point, their holder was unable to field the snap from center cleanly, and put it on the turf. The result is that, rather than being ahead by a point, the Redhawks are now tied with the Gophers.

There is 5:24 left in the third quarter of play at TCF Bank Stadium, and the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Miami (Ohio) Redhawks are tied at 16. The Redhawks just put the ensuing kickoff out of bounds, which will give the Gophers good field position at the 40-yard line.
