Minnesota fans may have been shaking their heads, but Michigan State fans had plenty to thank the Minnesota Golden Gophers for over the week as they allowed Michigan State to collect coach Tom Izzo's 400th NCAA win over them, 68-52.
The loss snapped a nice streak that the Gophers had going for themselves, as they had won three straight games to get themselves back into the picture in the Big 10. They had started the campaign with four straight conference losses so it was a nice change of pace, but now the Gophers are off their high and need to start putting in work again.
Minnesota's chance to get another winning streak when they meet the Illinois Fighting Illini on Saturday at 8 PM EST. The game will be at Williams Arena in Minnesota, where the Gophers haven't played their best basketball but can surely feed off the home crowd as they seek another win in conference.
