Purdue vs. Minnesota 2012 final score: Golden Gophers dominate Boilermakers, 44-28

After falling behind 7-0 early in the game, Minnesota scored 44 unanswered points to blow out Purdue, 44-28, at home on Saturday.

After falling behind 7-0 early in the game, Minnesota scored 44 unanswered points to blow out Purdue, 44-28, at home on Saturday.

Minnesota quarterback Philip Nelson was 15-of-22 passing for 246 yards and three touchdowns in the game. Two of his touchdowns were to wide receiver A.J. Barker who had five receptions for 135 yards in the game. Golden Gophers running back Donnell Kirkwood led the team on the ground by rushing 22 times for 134 yards.

Minnesota had 458 yards of total offense in the game.

Purdue used three different quarterbacks in the game and they combined to go 21-of-43 for 191 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.

The win was Minnesota's first conference victory as they improved to 1-3 in the Big 10. With the loss, Purdue fell to 0-4 in conference play.
