Just five days after he gave his verbal commitment to Minnesota, junior college power forward Daniel Edozie withdrew his commitment from Minnesota on Monday.

The 6'8 240-pound forward told the Pioneer Press that he liked the way Minnesota coach Tubby Smith and his staff approached the recruiting process. Now, less than a week later, Edozie and the Minnesota staff reportedly mutually decided to part ways.

Edozie also received interest from Oregon and Oklahoma, although neither school offered a scholarship. With Edozie no longer in the class, Minnesota has three available scholarships with Alvin Ellis the only player currently committed as part of the 2013 class. According to a report from the Star Tribune, Minnesota is reportedly recruiting several other interior players including Gavin Schilling and Nigel Hayes.

It's still unknown what happened between Edozie and Minnesota although Amelia Rayno of the Star Tribune said, "it appears that some wires were crossed in the recruiting process and the two sides might not have been on the same page."
