Minnesota vs. Nebraska 2012: No surprises in loss to Cornhuskers

Nebraska scored the first 38 points of the game and defeated Minnesota 38-14 on Saturday, which didn't surprise GopherNation at The Daily Gopher.

GopherNation credits Nebraska and categorizes them as the "class of the conference", while suggesting that their defense might also be the the best in the Big Ten.

GopherNation adds:

Nobody thought we'd win, most of us assumed it would be more competitive, but it wasn't. Nobody should be surprised that Nebraska is much better than we are.

The Nebraska defense held Minnesota to just 11 first downs and 177 total yards of offense in the game. The Golden Gophers were 1-for-13 on third down and scored all their points in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach.

The loss dropped Minnesota to 6-5 on the season and 2-5 in conference play. The Golden Gophers are already bowl eligible and will take on a struggling Michigan State team that lost to Northwestern at home on Saturday.

Minnesota has gone 2-5 since opening the season with four consecutive wins.
