The Golden Gophers will try to stop Michigan State from becoming bowl-eligible on Saturday at home in Minneapolis.

Looking to expand their bowl resume with another conference victory, the Minnesota Golden Gophers will square off with a skidding Michigan State team on Saturday afternoon to wrap up the Big Ten regular season.

The Gophers became eligible for a bowl game with a victory over Illinois on Nov. 10, but were unable to build off that momentum in a 38-14 loss to Nebraska last weekend. Although Jerry Kill's team has struggled to keep up with some of the best schools in the Big Ten this year, the Gophers will be extremely hungry to end their campaign with a win on Senior Day.

One year removed from reaching the Big Ten championship game, the Spartans will enter Saturday's showdown on a completely desperate hunt for a coveted postseason bid. Following a 3-1 start to the season, Mark Dantonio's Spartans have fallen short in four of their last five games against conference opponents and could be one loss away from ending their season
