2012 Big Ten football standings: Minnesota finishes 5th in Legends Division

The Gophers were 2-6 in conference play this season.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers concluded their regular season on a two-game losing streak, including a 26-10 defeat at the hands of Michigan State on Saturday, but they will be playing in a bowl this postseason. SB Nation's Jason Kirk sees them in the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas against Texas Tech.

With regular season Big Ten play now complete, the matchup for the league title game is set -- the Wisconsin Badgers will take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Wisconsin finished 7-5 overall and 4-4 in conference games, which placed it behind Ohio State and Penn State within the division. But the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions are ineligible for the Big Ten title game or any sort of postseason contest because of NCAA sanctions.

Nebraska needed a win over Iowa on Friday to secure the Legends Divsion; Michigan finished in second place at 6-2, while Northwestern was third with a 5-3 record.
