2012 High School Slam Dunk Contest Could Highlight Gophers Recruit Wally Ellenson

The 2012 High School Slam Dunk Contest is looking for participants and, if SB Nation Minnesota's fans help spread the word, a Minnesota Golden Gophers recruit could be competing on April 1. Wally Ellenson is a finalist for the annual contest, scheduled to be broadcast on CBS, but needs our votes to make it all the way to the live finale.

It sounds like Ellenson, a three-star recruit, had to go through quite a bit to even be involved in the voting process.

All video submissions will be reviewed by the recruiting staff of the event and top sixteen submissions from each discipline (dunkers, male 3-point shooters and female 3-point shooters), or forty-eight videos total, will be accepted. You may enter as a dunker and 3-point shooter but must submit separate videos for each competition.

Go vote while watching the highlight video Ellenson submitted (embedded below for your viewing pleasure).

Not bad, Wally.
