Minnesota native and Iowa St. Cyclones big, versatile forward Royce White has signed with an agent and will be entering his name into the 2012 NBA draft, according to CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman.
White averaged 13.4 points per game for the Cyclones this season along with 9.3 rebounds and five assists, earning himself a Big 12 Newcomer of the Year award along with appearances on the All-Rookie team. After his strong season with the Cyclones, White could be chosen as high as the first round in the NBA draft considering his Iowa State team made a decent run in the NCAA Tournament before being bounced by the Kentucky Wildcats.
White has a strong connection to Minnesota basketball, obviously, as he began his career with the Minnesota Golden Gophers before off-court issues caused him to leave the U and eventually enroll at Iowa State. Minnesota's Mr. Basketball in 2009 won two high school championships with DeLaSalle High School and Hopkins High as a freshman and a senior, respectively.
