The Minnesota Golden Gophers lost on Thursday night in the Frozen Four in a bit of an embarrassing fashion, but let's put that behind us as we move on to a new issue with the University of Minnesota. Specifically, let's instead focus on stopping mascot abuse.
I wasn't even aware mascot abuse existed, to be honest, but that's what public service announcements are intended for so it makes sense that Goldy the Gopher recently starred in a PSA of his own to raise awareness of the nation's newest epidemic.
The Sarah McLachlan music ensures that the piece is going to be sad, but did anyone really expect things to get so sad so fast? Goldy is just out there being a homeless mascot and then little kids come up and hit him with their swimming toys for seemingly no reason!
