The Minnesota Golden Gophers (2-0) look to remain undefeated when they host the Western Michigan Broncos on Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium.
Minnesota had little trouble in their home opener last week against an over-matched New Hampshire team, rolling to a 44-7 win. Quarterback MarQueis Gray threw for two touchdowns and scored another two touchdowns on the ground while rushing for 109 yards in the easy win.
Western Michigan (1-1) earned their first win in convincing fashion by beating Eastern Illinois 52-21 last week following a season-opening loss to Illinois. The Broncos amassed more than 600 yards of total offense against Eastern Illinois as quarterback Alex Carder threw for 364 yards and five touchdowns on the day.
Minnesota leads the series 3-0 and are 3-point favorites to win again on Saturday.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 11:00 a.m. CT and will be televised on the Big Ten Network. Radio coverage can be heard on KFAN 100.3 FM/KTCN 1130 AM.
