The No. 1 Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team returns to action Friday night when they travel to Michigan to take on the Michigan Tech Huskies.
The 3-0 Gophers have gotten off to a torrid start this year, winning their three games by a combined score of 19-1. Last weekend, the Gophers dominated a two-game series against the formerly ranked Michigan State Spartans.
Forward Zach Budish leads the Gophers with four points, but a host of other teammates have gotten in on the scoring. In fact, 12 Gophers have at least two points on the young season.
Michigan Tech has started the season 1-1.
Elsewhere, the No. 13 Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs will look for a series sweep over the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Bulldogs defeated the Irish 3-1 on Thursday night to move both teams to 2-1 on the year.
Finally, Minnesota State will host Rensselaer. The Mavericks are 1-0-1 so far.
Here's the Friday schedule with times:
Minnesota at Michigan Tech 6:05 p.m. CT
Minnesota-Duluth at Notre Dame 6:35 p.m. CT
Rensselaer at Minnesota State 7:35 p.m. CT
