Kevin Love reached the 30-point mark for the first time in his career, scoring 32 and adding 13 rebounds, as Minnesota defeated Milwaukee in Sioux Falls. The win is the Timberwolves' fifth in the pre-season and their second on a three-game road trip. Wayne Ellington also added 22 points for Minnesota, including a pair of three-pointers in a 61-second span late in the fourth quarter, sandwiched around a Love three-pointer, that put the game out of reach.
Love finished the night 12-17 from the floor, including 3-5 from downtown, in just 28 minutes of action. Ellington, in the starting five alongside regular starters Love, Luke Ridnour, Michael Beasley, and Darko Milicic, was 8-11 from the floor and perfect in three shots from behind the arc.
Yes, it's the preseason. Yes, it was the Bucks; but yes, it's still nice to see Love showing off. Ellington also has to feel good - he's one of about four players who look to be competing for playing time at shooting guard, so hitting 100% behind the arc, including the two important shots with the game on the line late, will help make his case.
