2011 NBA All Star Game: SB Nation Pencils In Kevin Love As An All-Star Reserve

There will be a lot of opinions and speculation in the next few days about who should make the All Star teams as reserves. The official announcement isn't until Thursday, so we still have 48 hours of nothing but opinion. It should be pretty fun.

But there are two reasons why you should definitely be paying attention to the opinion and speculation of Tom Ziller over at SB Nation.com. First, he is part of our network, so we already know that he is good people and super smart; and second, he has Kevin Love as one of the seven players who deserve to be a Western Conference reserve.

You average 20 points and 15 rebounds a game, you get an All-Star berth. I don't care what team you play on. Love has been one of the league's very best players this season, and his team's quality (or lack thereof) doesn't diminish his performance enough to ignore that.

He's right, any way you slice it, Love has been among the top 12 players in the West this year. And because Yao Ming, the player voted to start at Center, won't be able to play, Love actually has eight chances to make the team. He certainly deserves it.
