Wolves Sleepwalk Through 102-84 Loss To Memphis Grizzlies

(Sports Network) - Zach Randolph posted 23 points and 13 rebounds while Rudy Gay added 22 points, seven assists and seven boards as Memphis steamrolled Minnesota, 102-84, at Target Center.

Mike Conley had nine points and nine assists as he and the Grizzlies continued to shine while O.J. Mayo serves a 10-game suspension due to violating the NBA's drug policy. Memphis improved to 4-0 without Mayo.

"We're turning the corner," Conley said. "We're a team that's on the outside looking in on the playoffs right now and we understand our position. We're playing every game here on out like it's a playoff game. Every game means a lot to us. We're coming in focused and mentally prepared each night."

Sam Young and Marc Gasol scored 18 and 13 points, respectively, in the winning cause.

Michael Beasley had 19 points and Kevin Love just managed to collect his 34th straight double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have dropped seven of their last eight contests.

"We were making a lot of bad decisions," said Anthony Tolliver who had no points but seven rebounds for the Timberwolves. "They played pretty good defense but we just didn't make the extra pass. We didn't do much tonight and we paid for it."

The Grizzlies took a 26-20 lead after 12 minutes of play and made it a 10- point game after Young's alley-oop layin with 4 1/2 minutes left in the first half.

The visitors took a 49-41 lead into the break, then came out hot in the second half. They used an early 10-0 run, concluded by Conley's trey, to make it 61-45 with 7:44 to go in the third.

During the same quarter, the Grizzles used an 6-0 run to go up 22, 75-53, following Darrell Arthur's jumper.

Up 79-57 heading into the final quarter, Memphis cruised as its lead never dipped under 17 the rest of the way.
