Timberwolves Fall To Bucks, 94-88

The Minnesota Timberwolves had hoped to get the second half of the season off to a positive start tonight in Milwaukee, but it was not to be as the home team took this contest by a score of 94-88.

The Wolves didn't have an answer tonight for Milwaukee point guard Brandon Jennings, who led all scorers tonight with 27 points, and also dished out seven assists in the Bucks' victory. Michael Beasley returned for the Timberwolves tonight, and led the team in scoring with 21 points. Bench play was a huge part of how this game turned out, as the Milwaukee bench outscored the Timberwolves' bench by a margin of 33 to 16, thanks in no small part to Corey Maggette's 20 points.

Kevin Love put together his 42nd straight double-double for the Timberwolves, registering 20 points and 17 rebounds. He is now three double-doubles short of breaking the post-merger record for consecutive double-doubles set by Moses Malone in the 1982-83 season.

The loss for the Wolves gives them a season split with the Bucks, as Minnesota had won the first meeting between these two teams earlier in the season in Minneapolis.

No rest for the Wolves, as they'll turn around to play again tomorrow night at the Target Center against the Memphis Grizzlies. We'll have a preview up here for you tomorrow. . .in the meantime, be sure to check out the conversation about this evening's game over at Canis Hoopus.
