Timberwolves Travel To Washington To Battle Wizards

A couple of NBA cellar dwellers will be getting together tonight in Washington, D.C., and something is going to have to give one way or another.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, despite their victory in Detroit this past week, only have five road wins in the entire 2010-11 season. The Washington Wizards have lost seven consecutive games, and have the same number of wins this season (15) as the Timberwolves. Of the Wizards' 15 wins, however, 14 of them have come at the Verizon Center, where tonight's game will take place.

The Wolves hung tight with the Philadelphia 76ers in their last game, even getting another 20/20 performance from Kevin Love. However, a late 10-0 Philadelphia run sealed their fate, as they fell to the Sixers 111-100. The Wizards missed what would have been a game-tying three pointer at the end of their game against the Golden State Warriors, and wound up losing 106-102.

When these two teams met back on January 13 in Minneapolis, it was the Wolves that came out with a victory, 109-97. Kevin Love led the way for Minnesota that night with 35 points and 11 rebounds, and will look to have a similar performance as the Wolves look to sweep another Eastern Conference opponent, as they've done with both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons thus far this season.

Tip off for this one is scheduled for 6:00 PM Central time this evening, and you can watch the action on My29, listen to it on KFAN-AM 1130, or jump into the Game Thread with our good friends over at Canis Hoopus.
