The 2011 NBA Draft order will be finalized following Tuesday evening's lottery, but there's still a bit of time to speculate because Draft Express released their first mock draft earlier Tuesday.
In Jonathan Givony's creation, the Minnesota Timberwolves are projected to take point guards with both of their picks. That isn't such a bad thing as neither Jonny Flynn or Luke Ridnour are the answer, but critics would surely love to see the Wolves take point guards with both of their picks following the epic 2009 gaffe draft.
With the first overall pick, DX says the Wolves would take Kyrie Irving: No surprise there considering that's been the consensus since the season ended.
With the 20th overall pick, obtained from the Memphis Grizzlies in the swap of O.J. Mayo for Kevin Love, Givony believes that the selection would be Jimmer Fredette of Brigham Young University. Minnesota could definitely use a shooter, but there are probably more pressing needs than a back-up point guard for a team that finished with the NBA's worst record.
Either way, following this evening's lottery, things could turn out totally different.
