Seventeen Major League Baseball Draftees Have Ties To Minnesota

All fifty rounds of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft have come and gone, and with it gives us an opportunity to see how the great state of Minnesota fared when it came to draftees.

Overall, there were seventeen players that were selected in this year's draft that have ties to Minnesota in some way, whether it is having grown up in the state, having attended college in the state, or other connections.

After the jump, we will list all of the players that were selected in the 2011 MLB Draft that have ties to Minnesota, including where they were drafted and by which teams.

The number in front of the player denotes their overall selection. For reference's sake, there were 1,530 total players selected, so that tells you approximately where each of these players fell.

Four of the players were drafted by the hometown Twins, with the Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers each taking two Minnesotans. The Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, Houston Astros, and Colorado Rockies each took one player with Minnesota ties.
