The game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves was decided in the final minutes, and was a close affair throughout. With three minutes to go, Minnesota trailed by eight points, and started to come back. Luke Ridnour made a three-pointer, and then Michael Beasley followed up from the field. Kevin Love nailed a three-point jumper and eventually, the score reached 78-76 with about a minute to go, in Memphis' favor. The game got to 82-80, and then 84-80 when Mike Conley sank a pair of free throws with 22 seconds remaining.
Minnesota got the ball back, and Ricky Rubio hit a three-pointer, and Conley took to the free throw line again at 84-83. He made the first one, making it a two-point game, and then hits the second one. Love missed a layup, but tips it in to make it 86-85, but at that point there was only three seconds remaining, and Memphis sunk some more free throws to make it 88-85. Luke Ridnour took the line next, making one free throw and missing the second, as Minnesota got the rebound (and a Memphis timeout) with one second on the clock, but Beasley was called for a foul and that ended the game, giving Memphis a 90-86 win.
Tony Allen led the way for the Grizzlie with 20 points, four rebounds, two steals and a block, while Love had 27 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks for Minnesota. Love shot 11-for-21 with two three pointers and having made three of his four free throw attempts.
Minnesota will next take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, looking to get back in the win column and avoid a losing streak. The Grizzlies will continue their three-game road trip with a matchup against the Utah Jazz, also on Friday.
