The Minnesota Timberwolves have their work cut out for them to start their season. Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love are both injured and will miss significant time, and the team is scrambling to find someone who can best replace Love, the All-Star. To this point, Dante Cunningham and Derrick Williams have made the start at power forward in the preseason, but neither has proven effective at snagging rebounds. It looks as though those two might not be the only options, though.
According to Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune, the Timberwolves will start small forward Andrei Kirilenko at the power forward position during Friday's game against Milwaukee.
This past Friday, Williams and Cunningham combined for just six rebounds. Love can do that in just a couple trips down the court, as Zgoda notes. Williams will have another shot as he'll get the start on Wednesday, but now with Kirilenko's name thrown in, things get interesting for the injury-ridden Timberwolves.
