2012 NBA schedule: Regular season begins Tuesday

The NBA season begins with three games on Tuesday. The Timberwolves open their schedule on Friday.

The 2012-13 NBA regular season gets underway on Tuesday with a couple of headlining matchups. The Boston Celtics will travel to Miami to face the defending champion Heat, and the Dallas Mavericks are up against the Los Angeles Lakers, who added Steve Nash and Dwight Howard during the offseason.

The Minnesota Timberwolves don't open up their season until Friday, when they'll meet the Sacramento Kings at the Target Center. The Kings begin their season against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.

Here is the complete schedule for the first three days of the NBA regular season:

Tuesday, Oct. 30

Washington Wizards vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (6 p.m. CT)

Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat (7 p.m. CT, TNT)

Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Lakers (9:30 p.m. CT, TNT)

Wednesday, Oct. 31

Denver Nuggets vs. Philadelphia 76ers (6 p.m. CT)

Indiana Pacers vs. Toronto Raptors (6 p.m. CT)

Houston Rockets vs. Detroit Pistons (6:30 p.m. CT)

San Antonio Spurs vs. New Orleans Hornets (7 p.m. CT)

Sacramento Kings vs. Chicago Bulls (7 p.m. CT)

Dallas Mavericks vs. Utah Jazz (8 p.m. CT)

Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns (9 p.m. CT)

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers (9:30 p.m. CT)

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Clippers (9:30 p.m. CT)
