Ricky Rubio injury: Timberwolves PG could be cleared for 'contact practice' this week

If things go well during a doctor's meetings in Colorado, Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio could be cleared to return to practice later this week.

Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio could be cleared to participate to 'contact practices' this week if a meeting with his doctor in Vail, Colo, goes well, according to Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune. The second-year pro is scheduled to head to Colorado on Monday for a three-day meeting with Dr. Richard Steadman.

While Rubio hasn't officially been put back into action, Zgoda says that Rubio has, "been working out quite vigorously on his own before games -- just saw him working up a sweat shooting and doing other drills -- and it's certainly possible he could be back in a game perhaps even sometime that first week of December, or shortly thereafter."

If there are no setbacks during the meeting with Steadman, and Rubio has said recently that he expects it to be relatively easy, the point guard could be cleared to practice once the team gets back from a Wednesday night match-up in Los Angeles against the Clippers.
