Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love return to the lineup on Nov. 21, right before the team started a four-game West Coast road trip. Unfortunately for him and Minnesota, the Wolves dropped to 1-4 over their last five games when they fell to Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. Minnesota played a relatively soft set of opponents on their trip - Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers - but they emerged from the journey with only one win, which came on Tuesday night against the Kings.
Love has been terrific, however. He has recorded a double-double in each game, but his least efficient shooting performance and is most unimpressive rebounding effort both came on Wednesday night against the Clippers in a 101-95 loss. The talented forward finished with 19 points on 3-of-12 shooting, including a 12-of-16 mark from the free throw line, and he also pulled down 12 rebounds. Those outputs are both below Love's gaudy averages for 2012; 23.0 points per game and 15.6 rebounds.
in other action around the league on Wednesday night, the Detroit Pistons pulled off a 40-point blowout win over the Phoenix Suns, while the Washington Wizards (1-12) earned their first victory of the season by knocking off the Portland Trail Blazers in an 84-82 slugfest.
Next up for the Timberwolves is a home matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night, followed by a quick two-game road trip with games against the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics.
