The return of Kevin Love has given the Minnesota Timberwolves hope for a good season, but the immediate results have not been good. The Timberwolves have lost four of their last five games since Love's return from injury, and have slumped from 5-2 to 6-8, good for fourth place in the Northwest Division. However, the past four games have all come on the road.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are in first place in the division with a 12-4 record. The Utah Jazz are in second place at 9-7, three games back, and the Denver Nuggets are 3.5 games back. The Timberwolves are five games behind the Thunder, and the Portland Trail Blazers are 5.5 games back.
The Timberwolves next play on Friday night, when they return home to face the Milwaukee Bucks, who currently sit in first place in the Eastern Conference's Central Division. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
